The dynamic, soulful voice of Leanne Weiss has captivated audiences for nearly a decade. What she brings to country music is a unique sound, catchy lyrics, and melodies, and a charismatic personality.
Born and raised in Northern New Jersey, this singer-songwriter began singing at a young age. As a child, she idolized Celine Dion, Barbra Streisand, and Faith Hill as her musical she-roes, and studied the songwriting of Diane Warren. At age nine, her first karaoke performance was to Tammy Wynette’s “Stand by Your Man.” While the song was mature for her age, the audience raved about her talent. Her passion for performing led her to Montclair State University, where she earned a degree in Theatre. During and after college, her experience performing in a wedding band helped her to expand her versatility as a vocalist.
Leanne has honored America by performing the National Anthem at major sports venues, including Madison Square Garden and Prudential Center. As a New York Mets fan, there was nothing greater than performing “God Bless America” during the 7th inning stretch at Citi Field. She went on to perform at renowned venues such as the Apollo Theater
After performing with a local country songwriter as a featured singer, Leanne remembered writing country songs as a teen and decided to remove them from her “vault” of songs. It was at the New Jersey State Fair that fans first heard “Little Piece of Heaven.” Months later, she was in the studio recording an EP comprised of four of these songs.
“For Love,” which released on iTunes on October 1, 2013, is a collaborative effort between Leanne and Portrait Recording Studios producer Chris Badami (The Early November, Jennifer Rostock, The Starting Line) and their team of amazing musicians. Since the release of her debut EP, Leanne was selected as finalist for the Pepsi Southern Original competition and was voted as one of top 3 country artists in the New York City area by NashFM 94.7 listeners. She and her band recently appeared on WFMZ's "Music Monday" program and perform frequently at festivals and country nights. Leanne has opened for national country acts such as Dierks Bentley, Gloriana, Kristian Bush, Michael Ray, and Josh Dorr.
Sheis a member of ASCAP and Nashville Songwriters Association, and supports local community causes
"With a voice easily comparable to greats such as TrishaYearwood and Sara Evans, Leanne Weiss is well rounded in all aspects of conveying the truest country sound..."
